Betsy lives in Libertyville, IL, just outside of Chicago. She's married to Ed, who works in the golf industry, and they have 16-year-old twin daughters Sophia and Grace. A family gal at heart, she also loves trips to Europe, writing, interior design, photography, and great meals with friends and family.
Betsy specializes in the higher education/non-profit development arena, offering talent management services in the areas of executive coaching, leadership development and legacy building, talent management consulting and senior level fundraiser/leadership searches.
She is an accomplished leader with more than 25 years experience in talent management, coaching, media buying and selling, and advertising. Prior to embarking in the field of talent management, Betsy worked in media sales, selling and managing college marketing programs, and as a Media Director, built a media department for the fastest growing field marketing agency in the United States.
As a talent management professional in higher education development, Betsy has worked for Northwestern University’s Office of Alumni Relations and Development, The University of Illinois at Chicago’s (UIC) Office of Development, and The Office of University Development for The University of Michigan.
As a certified professional coach and consultant, she has worked with many other university and non-profit clients, so she is very familiar with the development profession, business, and the unique qualities and attributes necessary to be successful. Having conducted hundreds of searches over the past two decades, Betsy is highly qualified to identify exceptional Development talent and has built a very strong network of contacts.
Betsy holds a B.A. in Psychology and Advertising from Michigan State University and is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), having earned her certification from the Coaches Training Institute. She also holds a certification for Tracom's Social Styles Profile, the world's leading interpersonal skills model geared toward building social and emotional intelligence.
She has been coaching for over 20 years. The coaching has focused on fostering open and honest dialogue, goal-setting and planning, optimizing employee effectiveness and engagement, and infusing optimism and inspiration into employees’ everyday work/life. It’s also been an opportunity to help leaders lead with intention and truly take ownership of building positive legacies, as well as foster a values-based work environment and optimize organizational communication. The coaching tools and philosophies she utilizes, along with the extensive experience and wisdom she has gained as a coach, make her coaching-style of leadership development a very strong asset. She is a member of the International Coach Federation and adheres to its Pledge of Ethics and Standards of Conduct.
